In February 2021, Esther Ann Price reached out to Kodak Alaris to inquire about an award-winning photograph that her brother captured in the 1980s. Her brother, Herbert B. Pressman, lived and worked in NYC as a photographer at the time.

Thanks to Pat DeLuca and Jonathan Ghent for spending time investigating this query and reaching out to past and present colleagues on social media for assistance. One of Jonathan’s former colleagues, Pat Henehan, responded immediately when he posted Ms. Price’s question in the Kodak Facebook Group, Eastman Kodak Company Friends.

The photo likely won a “KINSA” award. Every year, people could submit their favorite photos to Kodak to compete for various prizes. There were many categories. The overall winner won $10,000 and all category winners were showcased in the “Parade” magazine which was a really popular newspaper magazine delivered with the New York Times.  I actually used to work on the giant display of photos each year at Kodak’s Epcot Center pavilion.

While this doesn’t tell the entire story, it was enough to delight Ms. Price and showcase the great lengths to which we go to help people connect with their memories.

There is still a great deal of pride associated with the our brand, and our community of employees – past and present – demonstrate it every day by going the extra mile for our customers and partners.

We’re still looking for more information about Pressman’s award-winning photo. If you recognize his name or photograph and have more information, please reach out!
